Family and celebrity friends ensured Sir Paul McCartney was feeling the love at his photography exhibition.
The 81-year-old Beatle was joined by his wife Nancy, daughters Mary and Stella plus son James for a private view at the National Portrait Gallery.
Among star musician guests were Ronnie Wood from The Rolling Stones, Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl, Chrissie Hynde from the Pretenders and John Lennon’s son Julian.
The London show has more than 250 photos taken by Sir Paul in the UK, France and the US in the early Sixties as the Fab Four shot to fame.
He said: “It was a crazy whirlwind that we were living through, touring and working pretty much every day. Looking at these photos now…I find there’s a sort of innocence.”

Sir Paul’s daughter Mary and his brother Mike are photography professionals, as was his late wife Linda. The star said: “I’m not setting out to be seen as a master photographer, more an occasional photographer who happened to be in the right place at the right time.”
