A Place In The Sun's Laura Hamilton shares 'emotional' update after 'sacrificing' for kids

Laura Hamilton said she was wracked with “mum guilt” after being forced to miss out on her children’s sports day event.

The Channel 4 presenter, who has son Rocco, nine, and daughter Tahlia, six, with ex-husband Alex Goward, took to her Instagram Stories to share her upset over not being able to attend the pair’s sports day on Tuesday because of work.

“It’s an emotional day for me because it’s my children’s sports day back in the UK,” she said in a video clip.

“I’ve been getting constant updates from mum friends and other parents all day long.”

“I just want to say thank you to them because quite frankly I feel a bit rubbish,” she lamented.

“Sometimes, doing this job, a job that I love, I have to make sacrifices. Just today, I’m not feeling particularly great that I’m not there for them but I am super proud that they have smashed it.”

She captioned the post with the hashtags “mum guilt”, “sports day”, and “working mum”.

In an earlier video, Laura, 41, revealed that she was filming in France and congratulated her A Place In The Sun team for winning Best Daytime TV Show at Tuesday’s TRIC Awards (June 27).

The TV star, who gives regular updates about her family life and how she’s coping as a newly single mum on Instagram, announced her split from Alex last May.

She said at the time: “This isn’t something I ever thought I’d be saying but, after 13 years of being together Alex and I have separated.

“Our children are and always will be our number one priority and we would respect privacy for our family at this time.”

Laura and her ex remain friends and are supportive of each other in their co-parenting, even taking their children on holiday together since the break-up.

She told the son: “We’ve always said that we will co-parent our children and would continue to have family holidays. I’m really grateful that we’ve got a fantastic positive parenting approach.”
