Ex-Fox host Dan Bongino claims his wife was 'dragged out' of Palm Beach restaurant 'UFC-style'

Former Fox host Dan Bongino has claimed his wife was dragged out of a glitzy Palm Beach Italian restaurant on Friday night for waiting in the wrong line for the restroom.

The pro-Trump podcast host, 48, said his wife Paula was ‘UFC-style’ removed from Cucina Palm Beach by an employee after enjoying a night out for his friend’s birthday.

Politico first reported Bongino was forcibly removed – but he took to his podcast The Dan Bongino Show to slam the narrative, and said he was in fact defending his wife Paula.

Bongino said that he had picked up the group’s tab and left his server a cash tip when he suddenly saw a ruckus erupt out of the corner of his eye. He said a man was ‘bear hugging’ a woman and carrying her out.

He later realized it was his own wife, after seeing her bracelet.

Bongino said that he thought they were going to slam Paula to the ground outside as he shouted: ‘Get your f***ing hands off my wife.’

The political commentator told his show: ‘I wasn’t thrown out of anywhere. I want to be clear about that.’

Bongino said that the group of couples had been having a great night out – and even broadcasted a clip he took minutes before the outburst, showing himself and his wife smiling and bopping their heads to the lively music inside the restaurant.

While it’s unclear what led to Paula’s removal, Bongino claimed his wife was queuing in the wrong line for the restroom.

The story broke after Politico said that Bongino was thrown out of the establishment, to which Bongino said: ‘That’s an absolutely FASCINATING take on what really happened. Does Politico support physical violence against women?’

Bongino, who unsuccessfully ran for Congress three times, is said to have ordered bottle service at Cucina before he was removed by staff.

In March 2021, Fox News announced that Bongino had been signed to host a weekend program, called Unfiltered with Dan Bongino.

But he announced that he parted ways with the company in April 2023, citing ‘failed contract negotiations.’

Announcing his departure earlier this year, he said: ‘Regretfully, last week was my last show on Fox News Channel.

‘The show ending last week was tough. It’s not some big conspiracy theory, I promise you. There’s no acrimony … We just couldn’t come to terms on an extension. That’s really it,’ he said.

‘I really enjoyed myself there. They were good for me for ten years … It’s a sad day. They did give me the opportunity to do one last show, I don’t want you to think they showed me the door. That’s on me, not on them, but I thought it was best to go this way for now.’

Bongino’s show, which aired Saturdays at 9pm eastern was a success for the network. The final episode drew 1.18million viewers and ranked as the highest-rated primetime show of the day.

Unfiltered was the top show in primetime on Saturday with 1.3million viewers and 134,00 viewers in the key demographic.

During his stint with Fox Nation, he also hosted Canceled in the USA – where he interviewed people who had been canceled for their beliefs.

In a statement, Fox News wished their former host well: ‘We thank Dan for his contributions and wish him success in his future endeavors.’

Before becoming a political commentator, Bongino worked in the NYPD and then the US Secret Service as a special agent.

He lives in Palm City, Florida, with his wife Paula and their two daughters.

The Bongino breakup with Fox News happened on the heels of the network agreeing to pay Dominion Voting Systems a $787million settlement in a defamation suit.

Referring to the optics of the split’s timing, Bongino said, ‘the timing’s not great.’

Fox News agreed to pay Dominion Voting Systems $787.5million in an 11th-hour settlement, averting a defamation trial about the network’s coverage of the 2020 presidential election.

Dominion had accused Fox News of repeating conspiracy theories regarding Donald Trump’s defeat to Joe Biden, and filed a $1.6 billion lawsuit against the network.

Dominion lawyer Justin Nelson said in a news conference that Fox is paying $787,500,000 to settle the defamation case, a number which he says ‘represents vindication and accountability.’

‘Lies have consequences,’ he said.
