Man slammed over 'cruel' method to stop people walking across his lawn

A man with an impressive front garden has taken drastic action to stop trespassers walking all over it, but some people think he’s gone way too far. Thomas Lyons posted a video on his TikTok account, using the username @tgunz81, of people trampling over his grass.

Each of them was then hosed by an automatic sprinkler that blasted them with water.

In another video, Thomas revealed that passers-by also get warned by an alarm as the sprinkler fires, telling people to get off his lawn.

Thomas’ initial video garnered almost 51 million views, and the follow-ups have generated a combined five million.

Commenters appear divided over whether Thomas’s aggressive action is justified. Some have even branded his robust response as “mean”.

One person said: “You’re all mad for no reason. This is their yard. Walking on it can kill the grass and there are sidewalks for a reason.”

However another took a different view: “Cutting across the grass has saved me from missing the bus many times. People cut because it is always faster and even 30 seconds can make a difference.”

A third simply said: “I love this level of pettiness. It’s your lawn, so do as you wish.”

Whilst someone else remarked: “It’s just kids walking home from school.”

Other commenters were simply dismayed at how “rude” the people walking on his grass were, with many stating they were brought up to respect other people’s property.

Someone said: “I don’t understand. I was raised to never walk in someone’s yard, especially a stranger’s.”

And a second wrote: “I have always felt like it was disrespectful to walk on people’s grass.”

While another commented: “I was raised to never walk on people’s lawns. How are these kids just casually doing that?”
