The Repair Shop fans fume ''unfix it' over restoration of Spanish organ

The Repair Shop expert David Burville had his work cut out during Wednesday’s instalment after taking on the challenge of restoring a Spanish barrel organ known as an organillo.

Owner Carolina Urraca was hopeful David could breathe new life into the instrument she loved to play when growing up with her grandmother in Spain.

Before Carolina spoke with Jay Blades and David about her beloved music box, she played the organ so the experts could see what the problem was.

“Wow, so that is the sound it has made,” Jay said afterwards as Carolina laughed.

The guest explained the organ would be played at street parties in Spain and people would dance along to it.

“Have you ever heard anything like that before?” Jay asked his co-star who replied: “Yes, I have.”

“The way they would play normally would not be that sound, would it?” Jay asked.

“No,” David continued. “You should be able to hear what tune it plays.”

Discussing the history of the organ, Carolina explained: “This was in my house since I can remember, it was my grandma’s, she always had it.”

When asked how it got into its current condition, the guest went on: “It went to my mum and she thought of it as an everyday item in the house.”

However, despite the wear and tear, Carolina hoped the organ could be restored to how it once was.

And luckily for her, David worked his magic and managed to restore it to its former glory.

As she played the sound of the organ, Carolina exclaimed: “You are a magician.”

Following the episode, fans took to social media to share their thoughts on the music organ restoration, with many claiming it sounded just as bad after David had fixed it.

@JRsArmchair shared: “Sounds as bad as when it was broken.”
