Joan Crawford's final words as she berated nurses praying at her deathbed

“Don’t you dare ask God to help me,” Crawford reportedly snapped at the nurses praying at her bedside, before moments later the Academy Award winner took her final breath.

After Crawford’s passing, her funeral was held in New York three days later, and then her will was read. Within it, Crawford left Cindy and Cathy, her two youngest children, around $77,500 (£63,000) from her $2million (£1.62m) estate.

Her two eldest, Christina and Christopher, however, were left with nothing.

“It is my intention to make no provision herein for my son, Christopher, or my daughter, Christina, for reasons which are well known to them,” she wrote in her will. This would later be challenged by the children, with both receiving $55,000 (£46,000).
