Strictly's Janette Manrara admits Aljaz has been 'sick more than I have' during pregnancy

The Strictly Come Dancing stars were beaming from ear to ear as they opened up to Lorraine Kelly about welcoming their “tiny dancer” into the world. Aljaz Ċ korjanec told ITV viewers he just wants to hold his wife’s belly as it continues to grow before Janette Manrara admitted he “keeps being sick”.

The Lorraine interview was their first televised chat since the news of their pregnancy was announced.

Their little one is due this August, with 33-year-old Aljaz telling ITV viewers: “It’s been a really interesting process so far, but I’ve just been amazed by it all really.

“You read about it, you do your research, you want to be really supportive and want to learn everything you possibly can. But every day, all I just want to do is hold [Janette’s] belly.”

Janette, 39, chuckled: “He’s actually been sick more than I have, so we keep making the joke that we really are pregnant together.

“Obviously, on the Strictly Live Tour, we’re on stage and we’re out every night and we’re having the best time,” Janette shared.

“So, I made sure to wear this big yellow dress, oversized suit – just in case.

“All of them started to get a bit of an inch, an idea. [They’d say] ‘Are you sure you don’t want to have a glass of wine with us tonight?'”

Speaking about whether the baby will be into dancing like their talented parents, Aljaz said: “It’ll be interesting what the first steps will be. Probably what Janette wants.

“We just can’t wait to be parents. Whatever they decide, whatever it is, it’s just whatever they want to do.”

The pair tied the knot in 2017 but are no longer professional dancers on Strictly Come Dancing, having stepped down from the role in recent years.

Janette also addressed her pregnancy on Instagram this Mother’s Day to her thousands of followers.

She shared pictures of her own mother and captioned the post: “Looking back at photos with my mom when I was just a little girl brings the biggest smile to my heart and a tear to my eye.

“The love that she has shown me is the most unconditional and infinite, and the lessons she continues to teach me are making me wiser every day…

“I am soon to be a mother, and I’m in awe of what my body is doing to create this beautiful miracle within me that I am already in love with.

“I hope to be just as wonderful, magical, funny, loving, caring, kind, and strong as she is and always will be; my ultimate inspiration.”

Lorraine continues on weekdays at 9am on ITV and ITVX.
