On his Youtube channel, body language expert Believing Bruce analysed the non-verbal communication between Meghan Markle and Prince Harry during the key moments of their Netflix documentary.
Bruce explained that in the very first opening scene, where Meghan and Harry are sitting next to each other, Harry “is adopting the position you would associate with this type of thing, even if they are just presenting a united front”.
Harry has a relaxed attitude, with his legs splayed and his inner thigh directed towards Meghan, “so he is in an open gesture,” the expert pointed out.
Meghan, on the other hand, is slightly different, “we don’t see her being open to Harry, her inner leg, the one next to Harry, is the one crossed over and we know that’s a barrier,” Bruce observed.
The very first scene is the moment when “they should be presenting that front”, and Meghan’s limbic system, which is the part of the brain involved in the behavioural and emotional responses, shows the opposite, and “that’s not common”.

“What we know is that Harry is their open support and his partner Meghan has closed herself off which is not common,” Bruce explained.
The expert opined that there are moments during the documentary when Meghan looks very “authentic” but there are others where she doesn’t.
He also commented on the “similarities” between Princess Diana and Meghan Markle that Prince Harry mentioned during the series.
The body language guru explained: “Harry wants to protect his wife and kids but also what comes here is Harry searching for his mum.

“It wouldn’t be uncommon to be traumatised on such a public global stage,” the expert opined and said that “the need for a young boy to find that mother figure” is not unusual.
However, Bruce talked about a “conflict” which can be observed between Diana and Meghan as Princess Diana was known to be “strongly trying to get her and the kids out of the cameras”.
Meghan on this aspect “seems to be the total opposite,” he claimed. “I get it, she’s an actress, she’s used to the limelight, she needs the cameras, it has been part of her career.”
But he concluded that “when it comes to that aspect, the difference between Diana and Meghan couldn’t be more poles apart.”

“That is quite powerful… what is she thinking of that makes her look down, smile and laugh, touch her nose and the eye block?
“But what’s even more powerful is that it then goes to Prince Harry and he does exactly the same!”
Bruce claimed that this is not just mirroring, but instead, “it’s mirroring with a negative context”.
“I don’t know what it is but there is something going on that it just isn’t right,” he opined.
