“It is too early to say whether she will be (fit for the World Cup), so we take it easy now. First recover and then over the next months we will see how it will develop. No push. She has to become fit again and take care of herself.”
Mead’s injury is one of seven players to have already suffered an ACL injury this season. Her Arsenal team-mate, Miedema, was ruled out for the remainder of the campaign with the same issue over the weekend.
It has led to calls for the FA to look into the WSL schedule. At the time of Mead’s injury, Eidevall blamed “player load” in the fixture list.
