Lil Wayne faces a $500,000 lawsuit from his former chef, Morghan Medlock, who says that the musical artist wrongfully fired her after she had to tend to her injured son.
In legal docs reviewed by TMZ, Medlock accused Lil Wayne, 40, of wrongful termination, retaliation, and multiple illegal labor practices linked to more than a year of employment for the entertainer.
Medlock said in court docs that she accompanied the Lollipop artist – who threw A Weezy Christmas bash at a Dave & Buster’s for 150 teens over the weekend in New Orleans – to Las Vegas over the Memorial Day weekend in her stead as a chef for the rapper.

Medlock said she first began working for Lil Wayne in October 2020 and had been assigned to organize his ‘menus on a daily basis to meet his particular requests,’ The Blast reported, citing legal docs.
‘Her tasks included but were not limited to the shopping and preparation of each meal, coordinating the anticipated number of meals to prepare in addition to meeting others demands and requests,’ she said in court papers, noting that she was ‘on call’ for the majority of the time.
Medlock told the court that while on the trip, she was told that her 10-year-old son was hospitalized in Los Angeles with ‘a severe head injury and concussion requiring emergency hospitalization.’
Medlock said that Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., had stalled the departure of the flight back by smoking marijuana on the aircraft.

Medlock said she subsequently departed via another flight and informed Lil Wayne’s assistant that she was leaving, sure they would understand due to the circumstances.
Lil Wayne’s terminated Medlock’s employment at that point, and she said members of the rapper’s camp continually asked her if she was quitting, to which she said she wasn’t.
Medlock said that after she tended to her family, she sought to resume her work for the musical artist, but was given ‘the cold shoulder,’ TMZ reported.
Medlock said a member of Lil Wayne’s staff texted her what was described as ‘an ungraceful goodbye message,’ before she was officially fired, TMZ reported.
She said that Lil Wayne sent her a message stating, ‘Tell Chef Morghan this isn’t going to work;’ and accused the rap artist of ‘conduct with a substantial factor and causing harm to [her] including but not limited to loss of earnings and other employment, benefits, mental anguish, and emotional distress.’
