Putin ‘will be faced with a collapse’ says General Sir Shirreff
The world has been warned the “Vladimir Putin era may continue” – even if he is ousted as President or dies – and to be prepared for an “aggressive Russia” for several more years. Putin’s invasion of Ukraine has left a trail of destruction, with the Rusisian president directing several nuclear threats towards the West as tensions surge throughout the world. But the war hasn’t been going to plan for him, with Russia suffering numerous devastating losses and reports of his troops staging a mutiny.
There has also been widespread speculation Putin is suffering from serious ill health, such as cancer and the debilitating disease Parkinson’s.
Nile Gardiner, a foreign policy expert and former aide to Margaret Thatcher, believes Russia knows it is heading for a devastating defeat in the war with Ukraine.
But he has warned even when Putin does leave as President, his legacy could yet continue and the world faces the prospect of an “aggressive Russia” for many years to come.
Mr Gardiner told Express.co.uk: “Ukraine is winning and Russia is facing defeat. They have fought a spectacular campaign to liberate their own country in the face of Russian barbarism and savagery.

“They are heading for victory and the Russians know this. Russia can’t win this war and are now facing defeat.
“However, we have to remain vigilant. Even if Putin were to be ousted or die with his speculated health conditions, the Putin era may continue. We have to be prepared to face an aggressive Russia for many years to come.”
Putin has suffered yet more setbacks with Russians moving to discuss a mass desertion of the country’s military force as the Kremlin leader struggles to maintain a grip on his own army.
Earlier this week, Putin was forced to admit there are “problems with equipment” for Russian troops and follows fears ill-equipped soldiers, already with low morale, face a gruelling and freezing winter in Ukraine.

An intercepted phone call between a furious Russian soldier and his mother – shared by CNN – signalled a growing move among Russian troops towards fleeing the military and its war in Ukraine.
Laying out the conditions on the frontlines, the soldier tells his mother back in Russia: “Leaving, leaving, people are leaving” as she responds: “Leaving? Like running away?”
The soldier confirms: “Yes running away, what else? Five f****** days under pouring rain, with no sleep.”
The intercepted call continues as the worried mother tells her son: “That’s deserting, watch out.”

The defiant but fed-up soldier responds: “If they don’t let us leave in December, we will go away too. You just can’t imagine, we live in a swamp. Everything is leaking, we have no sleep, no food, nothing!”
Last week it was claimed Putin has been suffering from Parkinson’s in what was described as a “rapidly deteriorating” health situation.
Political analyst Valery Solovey alleged the Russian President is suffering from a number of critical illnesses, including cancer and a schizoaffective disorder. He claimed Putin’s health “is deteriorating… dramatically”.
In an email sent to The Sun, a Russian security services insider also said: “I can confirm he has been diagnosed with early stage Parkinson’s disease, but it’s already progressing. This fact will be denied in every possible way and hidden.
“Putin is regularly stuffed with all kinds of heavy steroids and innovative painkilling injections to stop the spread of pancreatic cancer he was recently diagnosed with.

“It not only causes a lot of pain, Putin has a state of puffiness of the face and other side effects – including memory lapses. In his close circle, there are rumours that in addition to pancreatic cancer, which is gradually spreading, Putin also has prostate cancer.”
The Russian President has been suffering from coughing fits, nausea and a loss of appetite, according to the General SVR Telegram channel
It has long claimed the warmonger is battling cancer and has said sources inside the Kremlin say the Russian leader has lost 18lbs.
The Telegram channel has claimed Putin’s inner circle fears his “persistent cough” will be seen as a “sign of the leader’s rapidly deteriorating health”, as Russia continues to attack Ukraine.
