We say: Socialist AOC thinks capitalism creates “burdens” that depress birth rates, but free markets are the best way to pull a nation out of poverty — and it’s the better-off who have fewer kids. Then again, even the poor in America are far wealthier than most of mankind throughout history. Oh, and by the way: More-socialist Europe’s birth rates are lower than those in the US.

“What is (Nikki Haley’s) real name again?”
— Sunny Hostin, Tuesday
We say: The View’s Sunny (Asunción) Hostin stepped in it again, this time suggesting Republican Nikki Haley goes by “Nikki” instead of her “real name” to hide her Indian heritage. Except “Nikki” actually appears on Haley’s birth certificate, while “Sunny” is nowhere to be found on Hostin’s. Why does Hostin use “Sunny”? “Americans can’t pronounce ‘Asunción’ because of the under-education in our country,” she claimed. Desperate times call for lame excuses, we guess.
This editorial:
We say: The one time President Biden gets it right, declaring the pandemic “over,” the left suffers a meltdown. The pandemic is still “raging,” screamed a Washington Post editorial, arguing COVID still kills 400 Americans a day. Yet nearly five times as many (1,900) die daily from heart disease, and more than four times (1,650) from cancer. Are those “raging” pandemics, too? MSNBC, The New York Times, NPR and a host of Democrats likewise questioned Biden’s claim. Sorry, lefties: The bug may not be fully gone, but there’s no more emergency. The pandemic is over.

We say: Once again, the White House walks back the president’s statement, leaving US defense of Taiwan in question. So who do folks believe — Biden? Or his clean-up crew?

“I really hope China will decide sometime in the next days [to continue climate-change talks].”
— John Kerry, Tuesday
We say: China is a world leader in greenhouse-gas emissions with no intention of switching off fossil fuels. And even if it agreed to do so, its word is worthless. Will Kerry ever buy a clue?
