Emily Mayfield had plenty to smile about this weekend as she and her husband, Panthers quarterback Baker Mayfield, wrapped up their first preseason in Carolina.
The beauty influencer praised the Panthers in an Instagram post following the team’s 21-0 victory against the Bills on Friday in their final preseason game.
“Preseason✔️ || The real thing 🔜. Really digging this @panthers thing💙🤍🖤,” Emily wrote Sunday.
In the sideline snap, Emily — who has been married to Mayfield since 2019 — showed off her Panthers-themed custom corset top from Denim Designs by LV, which featured Mayfield’s No. 6 on the front. The proud wife also sported a gold necklace with the quarterback’s number engraved on a pendant.
Mayfield, who was traded to Carolina by Cleveland in July, was recently named the Panthers’ starting quarterback, which puts him under center against his former Browns team in Week 1.
The 27-year-old Mayfield won the starting job after a training camp battle against former Jets quarterback Sam Darnold. Both players were selected in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, with Mayfield going first overall to the Browns, followed by Darnold at No. 3 to the Jets.
Prior to Friday’s exhibition game, Emily had been in Cleveland to finish packing up the couple’s Ohio home. She shared a series of emotional posts on her Instagram Story and said the transition brought “a lot of tears.”
Earlier this month, Emily said there’s “no ill will” on their end when asked about Mayfield’s tumultuous exit out of Cleveland.
“End of the day, it’s a business! Baker and I are so thankful for our 4 years there!” she wrote on Instagram.
