Last week the Cold Heart singer, 75, uploaded the photo onto his main Instagram page to tease the track’s release.

The single artwork shows adorable throwback snaps of the two stars as children.

The updated cover artwork included the names of the two singers at the top and the name of the single at the bottom.

Britney could be seen posing with a smile on her face as a young girl in an eye-catching pink dance outfit. Her blonde hair was styled with a large pink feather in her locks.

The Rocketman singer could be seen sitting at the piano in a black and white photo when he was just a boy.

Previous artwork for the track was recently released, which included only the title of the song followed by a rose and rocket emoji to represent the two singers.

Hold Me Closer was recorded as a new take on his 1971 classic hit, Tiny Dancer. The track has fans at the edge of their seats, with the song being Britney’s first single release since the end of her conservatorship in November 2021.

Page Six reported last month that Britney had joined up with the English singer and composer in Beverly Hills to record the track, which first appeared on his 1971 album Madman Across The Water.

Elton appears to be the one who came up with the idea of the collaboration, but it seems to be an ideal soft launch for Britney to reinvigorate her musical career after staying silent in the final years of her now-defunct conservatorship.

‘This was Elton’s idea, and Britney is a huge fan. They have recorded a remix of Tiny Dancer as a full duet — and it is incredible,’ a music industry insider told the outlet.

The source added that Britney traveled to a studio located in Beverly Hills with Elton to record the song out of the public eye which was ‘overseen by uber-producer Andrew Watt.’

Watt has worked with several high-profile pop and rock acts — including Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Camilla Cabello and Pearl Jam — and he has collaborated multiple times with Elton, which suggests he would be an ideal pick for the two artists.

According to the source, Britney and Elton’s new single is already a hit with record company executives, reported Page Six.

‘They’ve already played it for people at their record label, and everybody is freaking out. It is so good,’ they gushed. ‘They are saying this is going to be the song of the summer.

‘Britney is officially back,’ they added. ‘She’s back to work, and she’s super excited.’

Now that her almost 14-year conservatorship has reached an end, the pop singer will have a chance to freely jump back into the music industry. The star’s last single was released years back in 2016 with Slumber Party.
