A man has been accused of acts of elder abuse aimed at actress Edie McClurg, who is living with dementia, by reps for a conservatorship McClurg is under.

Michael L. Ramos, who describes himself as a friend of the 77-year-old actress, has tried to remove the actress from her Los Angeles home, leave the state and marry her, reps for the conservatorship said, according to court docs reviewed by TMZ. A judge in the case ordered Ramos to cease any plans to wed McClurg.

The Kansas City, Missouri-born actress, famed for her roles in comedy classics such as Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Back to School and Planes, Trains & Automobiles, has been living under a conservatorship since 2019.

Ramos is unemployed and is described as having ‘finagled’ himself into McClurg’s life. He is living in her home, according to the court docs.

Ramos is also accused in the court docs of sexually assaulting a caregiver for McClurg, and the alleged incident has been reported to the Los Angeles Police Department.

According to the court documents, McClurg’s caregiver said they were concerned Ramos might have sexually assaulted McClurg, who might not be aware of what was happening amid her ongoing battle with dementia.

Reps for the conservatorship have asked the judge in the case to force Ramos out of the home, after the judge previously permit Ramos to reside there to provide companionship for the actress.

McClurg’s family sought the conservatorship in February of 2019, telling the court that the actress was residing with a man who was verbally abusive and looking to manipulate her estate by having her sign legal documents, TMZ reported at the time.

McClurg’s relatives told the court that the actress was ‘especially vulnerable to undue influence given her poor judgment and evident dementia’ and that neurological tests she had undergone indicated that she wasn’t able to live on her own without assistance.

McClurg has been active in show business for nearly 50 years, as she has been seen on TV shows including Tony Orlando and Dawn, The Richard Pryor Show, Harper Valley P.T.A. and WKRP in Cincinnati.

She has also done voice work in films such as The Little Mermaid, The Rugrats Movie, A Bug’s Life and Cars.
