Taylor might not be so swift when it comes to saving the planet.
Everyone thought Kylie Jenner was to blame for having the most carbon emissions with her 17-minute private jet rides, but the reality star may not be the “biggest climate change offender,” the Tab reported.
Research from sustainability-driven marketing company Yard tallied up A-list private jet usage and Jenner didn’t even make the top 10 in the list of celebrities who have racked up the most CO2 emissions in their PJs so far this year.
The findings showed that Taylor Swift’s private jet rides have emitted 8,293.54 metric tons of carbon in 2022, putting her at No. 1 on the list.
Even while she is not touring, her average flight time is still 80 minutes, with an average of 139.36 miles per flight, per the report.
While Swift was labeled the top “offender” by Yard, Floyd Mayweather was right behind her, with 7,076.8 metric tons of carbon emitted.
As for Jenner, her average 24.5-minute flight time didn’t even measure up to her boyfriend Travis Scott’s, who placed No. 10 on Yard’s list, nor did it compare to her sister Kim Kardashian’s, who is ranked No. 7.
The list was rounded out by Jay-Z, Alex Rodriguez, Blake Shelton, Steven Spielberg, Mark Wahlberg and Oprah Winfrey.
While social media may be quick to call Jenner a “climate criminal,” Swift isn’t exactly getting the same reaction: Many of her “Swifties,” as her fan base is known, lashed out about “Pollution (Taylor’s version).”
“A random blog which is not credible and was tweeted by someone who needed interaction not defending Taylor but at least use better sources if u do want to point out something they couldn’t even get the math right lmao,” tweeted one person in defense of Swift.
“She planted more trees than any of those celebrities combined; their argument is invalid. I’m being serious, she was also one of the biggest individual helpers on the Aussie wildfires,” another claimed.
However, there are a few people still calling her out.
“Any celebrity that can afford a private jet will own one and use it like a scooter,” another tweet read. “The people trying to cope over this are hilarious.”
