This Is Us has bid its final farewell after six years of making fans laugh and cry. 

Milo Ventimiglia, 44, played Jack, the head of the Pearson clan, in the Emmy Award winning series. But he said he has one regret about the show,

Because his character died when the kids were still in their teens, the versatile artist explained he didn’t get to spend enough time with his adult ‘children’ on the popular series.

In an Around the Table interview with Entertainment Weekly, Milo shared it was ‘heartbreaking’ that he didn’t get to connect as often as he would have liked with Chrissy Metz, 41, Justin Hartley, 45, and Sterling K Brown, 46, who played the grown-up versions of Kate, Kevin and Randall.

The entire cast made a fun day out of it, donning resort wear for the chat.

Justin and Sterling pointed out that the only time they were able to hang out with their on screen dad was usually in interview situations.

‘I’ve been consistently saying that’s the one heartbreaking thing is I don’t get to spend time with all of you on set,’ said Milo.

‘But you’re always with us,’ comforted Chrissy.

Sterling recalled he had three on-screen interactions with Jack: Once when in character was hallucinating after accidentally taking mushrooms, in a milk shake scene and at Kate’s first wedding.

Mandy Moore, 38, who played Jack’s wife Rebecca, and and Jon Huertas, 52, who starred as his best friend, Miguel, had ample opportunity to act with the Critics Choice Award winner. 

Recalling his time on set, Milo said he would often stay and watch the rest of the cast work after his scenes were completed.

‘For me, honestly, I feel at times I’m like, I’m just gonna sit and observe. I kind of dance on the periphery of when it’s the group because you guys have so much collective time together, that for me, I’m like, I don’t want to disturb them, I’m just gonna watch.

‘To be around you guys is to know something lovely.’
