In a 911 call recording released by local emergency services, the rapper calls for assistance while the man he just shot can be heard screaming in agony in the background.
‘I shot him in the leg,’ the rapper could be heard telling a 911 dispatcher in a six-minute emergency call that was released by Iredell County Emergency Communications.
‘Ok and why did you do that?’ the dispatcher asks in response.
‘He’s trespassing on my property … I don’t know what he’s here for. What he’s here to take, what he’s here to do… He’s neutralized until you guys get here,’ the rapper said.
‘Are you with him now?’ the dispatcher asks.
‘Yes, he’s right here in front of me. He’s bleeding. He’s been shot,’ DaBaby responds bluntly.
For the duration of the call the suspect can be heard crying in pain as the rapper tells the dispatcher to ‘sound their sirens’ so he knows to ‘open the gate’ to his multi-million dollar mansion when law enforcement and paramedics arrive.
During the call, the dispatcher attempts to find out more as to the circumstances that led up to the shooting.
DaBaby explains that the man had to ‘jump over a fence and everything’ in order to reach the star’s personal football field.
When the operator asks for more details as to what happened, the rapper becomes increasingly agitated and impatient.
‘I already told you what happened! Somebody else might be with this guy!’ he responds. ‘You can interrogate me when ya’ll get here and save this man’s life. That’s why I’m calling you!

An intruder was reported to be shot at the residence, with the 911 call described as ‘very tense’. PIctured Da Baby poses backstage for the 2021 Billboard Music Awards in May 2021
‘I don’t want somebody else sneakin’ up on me!’
The shooting occurred after the 30-year-old rapper, whose real name is Jonathan Kirk, spoke to the trespasser near the rapper’s football field, before shooting him in the leg at around 7:45pm.
Officers arrived on the scene where they found the subject near the field. He was then taken to hospital.
Troutman Police Chief Josh Watson also confirmed the person involved, who has yet to be identified, suffered from non-fatal gunshot injuries.
Troutman town manager Ron Wyatt told TMZ that where the shooting occurred, people cannot simply walk onto the property by accident.
Despite cops reportedly being called 31 times to the 11,200 square foot mansion in the past year, police claimed that it was ‘an isolated incident’ and that ‘there is no threat to the community at large.’
Iredell County’s Firewire360 Facebook page gave more details, stating that the 911 call had been ‘very tense’.

It is unconfirmed who pulled the trigger as DaBaby was not named in the report, but he has been charged with firearm offences in the past
‘A call came into Iredell County 911 reporting that a subject had been shot on the property of rapper Jonathan ‘DaBaby’ Kirk,’ they stated.
‘The shooting reportedly occurred near the football field on the property. Initial reports indicate that the subject who was shot had trespassed onto the property.’
They add that the intruder was treated with a ‘wound to the lower extremity’.
The 911 responder instructed the caller to ‘secure his weapon’ before police arrived but the caller refused, stating that there ‘could be more intruders’ on the enclosed property.
DaBaby lives at the five-bedroom, $2.3 million compound, spread out over nine acres with a pool and stadium floodlights.
The rapper is no stranger to controversy, with an extensive rap sheet and reports that Iredell County services have been called to DaBaby’s address 31 times within a year after he is thought to have moved in December 2019.
These include 14 times the burglar alarm has gone off, four noise complaints and at least two domestic arguments.
There have also been reports of neighbors phoning in complaints about construction at DaBaby’s estate, including concerns about new guard towers, a concrete wall and what they say are bright stadium-style lights.
The compound is located 25 miles north of Charlotte on a quiet, two-lane street unaccustomed to having an international rap star and entourage in their midst.
DaBaby was arrested in 2018 in connection with a fatal shooting at a Walmart in North Carolina. DaBaby insisted he did not pull the trigger that killed a man during a fight but was convicted of misdemeanour carrying a concealed weapon.
The rapper was handed a suspended 30-day jail sentence and 12 months of unsupervised probation.
