Russia has abandoned the bodies of 7,000 of its soldiers, according to a Ukrainian official.
The unclaimed Russian corpses are in morgues and refrigerated rail cars, according to the source cited by the Washington Post.
Oleksiy Arestovych, an adviser to the head of Ukraine’s presidential administration, said his government’s figure of 18,600 Russian dead was based on Ukrainian reports from the battlefield and intercepted Russian military communications.
