Shane Warne memorial services tickets will be made available TODAY

Sports fans will get the chance to farewell cricket legend Shane Warne as multiple grounds across Australia plan to livestream the service.

A state funeral for the spin bowling great will be held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on March 30. 

More than 50,000 free tickets will be available to the public and are set to be quickly snapped up when they go online booking at 3pm on Tuesday.

Premier Daniel Andrews has released more details about the two hour service scheduled to begin at 7pm on March 30.

‘We’ve got some details locked in for Warnie’s memorial at the MCG,’ the Premier tweeted on Tuesday morning.

 ‘And don’t worry – if you can’t make it, the memorial will be livestreamed.’

All attendees must be fully vaccinated and be seated by 6.45pm. 

Sydney Cricket Ground will host a livestream event of the service following the sport star’s death on March 4. 

It is understood other grounds across Australia are looking at doing the same, including Adelaide Oval.

NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet said the final details of the SCG event were still being finalised butthe event would be run alongside the Melbourne Cricket Ground service. 

‘We are working through that at the moment with (Venues NSW chairman) Tony Shepherd and the team at Cricket Australia,’ he said.

‘We want to run those events alongside each other. Obviously, we will live stream the memorial service in the MCG – that’s incredibly important.’

People wanting to attend the event in Melbourne will be able to enter a public ballot for one of 50,000 tickets while the Sydney event will be unticketed with free entry.

Warne’s family and former cricketers will attend the MCG service, which is set to begin at 7pm AEDT.

The service at SCG, where Warne holds the record for the most test wickets, will include live tributes to the cricketer and footage of his achievements at SCG.

Mr Perrottet said he believed it was important NSW residents had the opportunity to say goodbye to the sporting legend. 

‘Shane Warne is the greatest cricketer I’ve seen of that generation and well loved by the people of NSW even though he was a Victorian,’ he said.

‘I think it’s important that we provide the opportunity for people to come to the cricket ground and pay their respects to Shane and to his family and his friends.’   

A Cricket Australia spokesman told the Daily Telegraph other cricket grounds were also considering hosting memorial services.

‘The SCG has expressed its intention to live stream Shane Warne’s memorial service and is of course very welcome to do so,’ they said.

‘Other grounds around Australia including Adelaide Oval are understood to be considering doing the same thing.’

Venues NSW chairman Tony Shepherd said the Premier, Sports Minister Stuart Ayres and former Prime Minister John Howard had been invited to the SCG memorial. 

‘We will have tributes and footage of his greatest exploits at the SCG. It is really an opportunity for those who could not get to Melbourne to pay homage to a great Australian cricket player,’ he said.

Several Sydney-based players will travel back from Pakistan in time for the service including Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Starc, however it is unknown whether they will attend the SCG or MCG memorial.  

David Warner has said he will attend the MCG event.

‘It’s definitely going to be extremely emotional for everyone,’ he said.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison will also attend the Melbourne service, as well as Simone Callahan, Warne’s ex-wife and the mother of Warne’s children, Brooke, 24, Jackson, 23, and Summer, 20, who are all expected to attend.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, who was friends with Warne, has said he wants to be involved. 

Warne’s ex-girlfriend British actress Elizabeth Hurley is understood to be trying to make it over for the service.
