Luann de Lesseps admits she was kicked out of piano bar: 'My struggles with alcohol are real!'

Luann de Lesseps was ‘faced with the truth’ and admitted she was kicked out of a gay piano bar earlier this week as she shared a lengthy apology for her actions and to the people involved in the incident at the Townhouse.

The 56-year-old reality star previously denied the allegations during an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com on Thursday, but was forced to reckon with the past as she took to Instagram on Saturday morning to confirm she was escorted out of the establishment in Manhattan on Wednesday night.

‘This week, after a regrettable incident I was faced with the truth,’ she wrote. ‘I want to apologize to the staff at Townhouse and anyone else I may have offended by my behavior.

‘Clearly my struggles with alcohol are real! While I’ve made great strides over the years, there’s been times I’ve fallen. It’s one day at a time! I’m in recover and taking steps to ensure this doesn’t happen again.’

She added: I’m grateful to my family and my friends for their constant support.’

Luann initially denied having been kicked out of Townhouse — where sources claimed she was ‘monopolizing’ the piano and ‘drunkenly’ singing — while speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com on Thursday.

‘I went out and I was feeling all Jovani but clearly money can’t buy you class, especially with an audience who doesn’t appreciate my music,’ she claimed via email, adding that there is ‘certainly no girl code anymore.’

‘But I live to see another day — chic cest la vie!’ she continued, referencing the title of her single Chic C’est la Vie. ‘Long live fun nights out in New York City.’

Page Six previously reported that the Real Housewives Of New York City star had been kicked out of Townhouse after she drunkenly sang several songs for the crowd.

‘Luann thought she was doing her act,’ a source claimed. ‘She tried to sing [her own song] Money Can’t Buy You Class, but they didn’t know it, they know standards.’

They continued: ‘The piano player was like, “I don’t know the song,” and she responded “It’s a hit!”‘

The source added of the tune, which reportedly sold 19,000 digital copies: ‘It’s not a Cole Porter standard, it’s not Somewhere Over The Rainbow.’

The former Countess appeared to be intoxicated and was ‘belting out jumbled versions of songs,’ though the crowd apparently tired of her antics and were ‘booing her,’ claimed a second source.

They noted that a group of drag queens, including ‘Tiffany Anne Coke, Shiny Penny, Lauren Ordair and Chandilier,’ were in the audience.

Another source claimed that the mood in the piano bar soured when Luann began ‘yelling at the gays, “You don’t know me! I’m a cabaret star!”‘

Video from the evening that was viewed by the publication apparently included a clip of the RHONY star shouting ‘F*** you’ into the microphone.

One of the sources alleged that Luann ‘yelled at the other patrons on the microphone,’ before she was ‘thrown out for getting aggressive with the bar’s customers.’

Luann told Page Six that she and Kinky Boots producer Jim Kierstead arrived together at the establishment around 10:30 p.m., when ‘there were a bunch of people singing and it was a fun, boisterous crowd.’

After he urged her to sing a bit, she said she ‘sang a few Broadway songs they were playing.’

‘I realize I was a little bit tipsy, but we were having fun and it was getting late. I’d been rehearsing and I was in the mood to sing a few songs,’ she continued. ‘Then Jim said to me, “Lu, I have an early rehearsal,” and then we left around midnight, 11:30 p.m.’

Not standards: Sources said she sang her own songs, which the patrons didn't know, and that she appeared to be intoxicated. Luann admitted she was 'tipsy,' and her friend, Kinky Boots producer Jim Kierstead, claimed she left with him of her own accord; seen in 2019 in NYC

Kierstead claimed that they left of their own accord, rather than being booted.

‘After a birthday party for a New York theatre personality, Luann and I went to the townhouse for a nightcap,’ he said. ‘She was met by legions of her fans and was convinced to sing for them.

‘I was finally able to bring her home as I had an early morning Thursday for the workshop of a new musical,’ Kierstead continued. ‘Of course, she was the belle of the ball as usual.’

The cabaret singer, who has a history of issues with alcohol, has been ‘trying to stay healthy and takes things day by day,’ a friend of hers claimed to the publication.

Notably, the star was arrested in 2017 on charges of disorderly intoxication, resisting arrest, battery of an officer and making threats against a public servant while in Palm Beach, Florida.

Following the run-in with the law, she entered an alcohol abuse treatment program, and the following year she agreed to plead guilty to the misdemeanor charges in exchange for the felony charge of battery of an officer — for allegedly kicking a police officer — being dropped.

As part of her sentence, Luann was ordered to perform 50 hours of community service and to attend at least two Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

In July 2018, she sat out the RHONY reunion taping while going to rehab.
