Microsoft is Finally "Leaning Forward" & Flexing Its Biggest Advantage in the Video Game Space

I am sorry about writing and essay. Just my mumbling and jumbling thoughts

I am a PlayStation gamer who will buy Xbox series x for all of Xbox’s single player story driven games. I understand the value of GP and more power to you if you enjoy so many games, but with family and work time is limited the games I like I buy. For some weird reason I never got into renting games I don’t I always felt the pressure to finish and return the game(I know it sounds weird 😂)

They bought Bethesda because on console support Bethesda always supported and favored Xbox brand(nothing wrong with that their partnership goes way back) obsidian, ninja theory, double fine and few others were struggling for resources so they jumped on the opportunity to have the backing of such resourceful company that needs content for GP

Activision acquisition is more of Activision being in deep trouble and wanting out before more is leaked and company’s reputation is tarnished forever. Ms sees the benefits of the back catalog and so many developers. Only issue I see and I think Ms will fix this and that’s Activision were greedy and just wanted the release games quick and than micro transactions. Hopefully Ms will give more time and resources to the developers especially call of duty games which really don’t need yearly releases

This brings me to Sony and PlayStation, Sony has always targeted developers who have worked with PlayStation before when it comes to acquisitions. Honestly I am really surprised Ms didn’t target insomniac or bluepoint games when they were independent. Sony only paid $256 million for insomniac who have release Spiderman , ratchet and clank and Spiderman mm so they already made their money back

In future I believe Sony will spend 20+ billion on acquisitions and I think Ms has kind of forced Sony into making more acquisitions. I think sony will target square enix, namco, and Capcom. While Sega is 50/50(I think they may go to Ms since recently their relationship has grown stronger, I would hate that because I love Yakuza games)

I think Ms won’t stop I think they will target ubi next because they own so many IP’s and create a lot of content. Than it gets tricky from there for both Ms and Sony. Warner Bros will be sold before this generation is over(50/50 on who gets what)

Take two is very interesting Ms could offer them 50 billion TBH to have quite possibly the biggest IP that will belong to them( as a gamer I really really really really hope this doesn’t happen and take two remains independent)

I don’t think the government will allow Ms to buy EA

This brings us to 3 more

Steam: I remember when EA tried to buy them for like 3 billion. Since they are private like Bethesda they don’t have to sell because they make enough from steam but they also have a good relationship with Ms and Ms surly can write a big enough check for gabe to say yes

Epic (Tencent may have dibs on them since they have invested quite a lot into epic but what’s interesting is the fact both Ms and Sony have made hefty investments into epic too)

Tencent (they are worth close to a trillion themselves so this isn’t happening)
