Virginia Giuffre, the most vocal accuser of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, said that she had finally been granted the justice her ‘soul yearned for’ after Maxwell was found guilty of sex trafficking and other charges on Wednesday.
Giuffre, who has also accused Prince Andrew of sexual assault, tweeted on Wednesday after a jury of six men and six women found the British socialite guilty.
She wrote: ‘My soul yearned for justice for years and today the jury gave me just that. I will remember this day always. Having lived with the horrors of Maxwell’s abuse, my heart goes out to the many other girls and young women who suffered at her hands and whose lives she destroyed,’ Giuffre wrote on Twitter.
She added: ‘I hope that today is not the end but rather another step in justice being served. Maxwell did not act alone. Others must be held accountable. I have faith that they will be.’
Giuffre was not included in the trial against Maxwell but has become one of the most well-known Epstein accusers. She claimed Epstein and Maxwell trafficked her to powerful men, including to Prince Andrew at Maxwell’s home in Belgravia.
After her conviction on Wednesday, politicians on both sides of the aisle were quick to condemn the sex trafficker who they said should ‘rot in jail’.
Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, called for Epstein’s network of predators to be exposed after she was found guilty on five of the six counts.
‘Jeffrey Epstein’s entire network should be made public and his fortune should go to his victims. If the fake J6 committee can subpoena innocent people’s cell phone data and bank records then Jeffrey Epstein’s whole network should be publicized,’ Greene tweeted referencing the House Committee on the January 6 attack.
Fellow Representative Lauren Boebert added that Ghislaine Maxwell ‘deserves to rot behind bars for the rest of her days and the public deserves to know every single person involved in the Epstein sex trafficking network. We deserve to know the whole truth, not just some vague court sketches.’

Many other prominent figures spoke out after Wednesday’s verdict was announced with many warning that Epstein’s other ‘friends’ were next.
England’s youngest MP, Nadia Whittome, criticized the BBC after Alan Dershowitz – who has also been accused of participating in Epstein sex ring – appeared on the network to comment on the verdict.
‘Alan Dershowitz, who was accused of the same crimes as Prince Andrew, is on the BBC trying to silence victims following Ghislaine Maxwell’s conviction. I can’t believe this needs to be said but the BBC should not give a platform to people accused of child sexual abuse,’ Whittome tweeted on Wednesday.
British journalist Piers Morgan warned that many powerful figures might become anxious if Maxwell decides to expose accomplices of Epstein.
‘Will vile sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell now sing like a canary to avoid spending the rest of her life in prison? If she does, there could be a lot of rich, powerful & famous people sweating tonight… and not sweating,’ the media mogul tweeted.
Walt Disney’s great niece and filmmaker Abigail Disney tweeted: ‘Ghislaine, if you want any redemption at all, I hope you will give up some names, because those fu**ers should not be able to hide any longer.’
Disney went on to say that sexual predatory behavior is concealed and often times not reported because of the ‘patriarchy.’
‘Instead of a shouting match about whether it’s Bill Clinton or Donald Trump who more needs to be exposed when and if Ghislaine ever names names, how about we talk about the fact that this behavior crosses party lines and respects no tradition? It’s patriarchy, stupid!!’ she added.
American art critic and New York magazine contributor Jerry Saltz shared several pictures of Donald Trump next to Epstein and Maxwell.

Actor and filmmaker Andy Ostroy also took aim at Trump’s highly publicized connection with Epstein.
‘I bet there’s one p****-grabbing, underage-model-ogling, accused sexual-abusing-rapist who’s probs not gonna be sleeping too well until #GhislaineMaxwell’s sentencing…’ he tweeted.
Ostroy added ‘If there’s a God above, please let her urge #GhislaineMaxwell to rat on #Trump and other high-level pervs in exchange for a lighter sentence..’ and shared a POLITICO article from August 2020 on Trump wishing Maxwell ‘well’ after her arrest last year.

Annie Farmer, the only victim in the Maxwell trial who was named, was reportedly ‘sobbing with joy’ as she left court on Tuesday.
‘I am so relieved and grateful that the jury recognized the pattern of predatory behavior that Maxwell engaged in for years and found her guilty of these crimes. She has caused hurt to many more women than the few of us who had the chance to testify in the courtroom,’ Farmer said in a statement on Wednesday.
‘I hope that this verdict brings solace to all who need it and demonstrates that no one is above the law … Even those with great power and privilege will be held accountable when they sexually abuse and exploit the young,’ Farmer added.
Her sister, Maria, said: ‘We are proud of one another. I have spent every moment for seven years, working towards this verdict. No pay, just due diligence. I never gave up. This is the best thing I have ever had happen in my life. It means I don’t have to hide.’

‘With Ghislaine Maxwell being found guilty, I hope prosecutors step to her prior to sentencing to explore cooperation now that she’s facing a de facto life sentence. How many high profile, influential abusers might she be able to give up?’ he wrote.

On Wednesday, the jury found Maxwell guilty on five of six counts – all except enticing an individual under the age of 17 to travel with intent to engage in illegal sex acts.
She faces a maximum sentence of 65 years in prison. The sixth count – sex trafficking of an individual under the age of 18- carries a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison.
Trump has not spoken out after Maxwell’s trial verdict on Wednesday, but he has denied having a close relationship with Epstein.
Maxwell did not appear to react to the verdict and after they were read out by Judge Alison Nathan she calmly opened a bottle of water and poured herself a glass.
Her lawyer Jeff Pagliuca sitting next to her put his arm around her and gave her a hug and she leaned into his shoulder.
In the public gallery sat her siblings Isabel, Christine and Kevin: only Isabel appeared to react and hang her head as the verdicts were read out.
Maxwell walked out of court flanked by two security guards: she was not handcuffed or shackled on her legs.
She managed one look back and walked out with her head held down. In the elevator Maxwell’s lawyer and close friend Leah Saffian appeared red eyed and distraught.
Judge Nathan read out the verdict after being passed it in an envelope and asked each juror to confirm that it was correct by passing around a microphone. Each answered that yes it was – one male juror was seen rubbing his eyes and forehead.
It was a sensational month-long trial filled with tearful testimony, a trove of never-before-seen photos submitted into evidence, and shocking claims that the British socialite was a ‘sophisticated predator.’
