Jimmy Carr weight loss: Comedian used simple diet plan change to slim – 'feeling better'

Jimmy Carr will regularly host shows for Channel 4 and Netflix. However, it is not just his sense of humour that has caught attention over the years. How did he achieve his weight loss transformation?

He credited “exercise and protein pills” for playing a part in his slim frame.

“The cosmetic stuff is sort of nonsense, it’s the feeling better,” he said.

“And there’s the exercise I do and the pills I take – I take a lot of pills as part of a health overhaul.”

Jimmy explained his regular TV appearances has motivated him to stay looking his best.

DON’T MISS

“What I imagine in my head matches what I see in the mirror,” the comedian added.

“It’s the illusion of being on TV – you see yourself in full make up looking your best and lit well, then you look in the mirror and go, ‘Oof, that’s disappointing’.

“I took a thing like a protein pill. I got the hair transplant and they said, ‘You should take something to make you hair grow’.”

Jimmy referenced a hair transplant which he had in 2020.

Speaking in the past, the TV favourite has also credited intermittent fasting for staying in shape.

The diet plan sees slimmers eat all their calories in a small time window during the day, and fast for the remaining hours.

When following the plan, Jimmy reportedly stopped eating after 6pm and focused on eating a large meal at lunch time instead.

Intermittent fasting has been shown to help with weight loss, experts at Healthline.com explained.

They stated: “Many of those who try intermittent fasting are doing it to lose weight.

“Generally speaking, intermittent fasting will make you eat fewer meals.

“Unless you compensate by eating much more during the other meals, you’ll end up taking in fewer calories.

“Additionally, intermittent fasting enhances hormone function to facilitate weight loss.

“Lower insulin levels, higher HGH levels, and increased amounts of norepinephrine (noradrenaline) all increase the breakdown of body fat and facilitate its use for energy.

“For this reason, short-term fasting actually increases your metabolic rate, helping you burn even more calories.”
