‘She’s human too’ Rosamund Pike’s co-star Josha Stradowski on ‘struggles’ behind scenes

Josha Stradowski, 24, gave a candid interview with Express.co.uk and other journalists on the red carpet last week before he attended the premiere for new Amazon Prime show The Wheel of Time. The Dutch actor gushed about his co-star Rosamund Pike and talked about how refreshing it was to see that the actress has her own “struggles” behind the scenes.

Josha hails from Rotterdam in the Netherlands and is known for his role as ‘Joris’ in the Dutch 2018 film Gewoon Vrienden.

Speaking about Rosamund, Josha said: “As a young actor, it’s amazing to work with such a brilliant actress.

“She’s a leader by example and she’s amazing, but it’s interesting to see that even such a brilliant actress, you can see that she is going through the same stuff as we young actors do.

“And in spite of those differences, you can see that we’re still the same.

“She struggles with the same stuff and, you know, before you start working with somebody like that you can feel intimidated or like they’re really on another level, which they are of course.

“But in small moments you can see that at times they can struggle with the same stuff that you do.

“So they’re also human and they also just really love their work and are also really professional.”

When asked what kind of struggles Rosamund and her castmates faced while filming their new series, The Wheel of Time, Josha explained that the issues were mainly work-related.

During that period, the cast and crew would spend large amount of time holed up together in their remote Czech Republic shooting location .

The Wheel of Time is an American epic fantasy show based on a book series of the same name written by Robert Jordan.

In the show Rosamund plays Moiraine, who is a member of powerful magic-wielding organisation the Aes Sedai.

In the story, Moiraine takes a group of five young people on a journey around the world, believing one of them might be the reincarnation of the Dragon, a powerful individual prophesied to either save the world or destroy it.

Josha plays one of the story’s central protagonists, Rand al’Thor, who is the reincarnation of Lews Therin Telamon, and heir to his role.

In his interview, the star revealed that his co-stars had “great chemistry” throughout filming and said that they “got along from the start”.

“We were all stuck in our apartments but we had each other and that meant we grew closer,” he reflected.

The Wheel of Time will premiere its first three episodes on Amazon Prime Video on Friday 19th November 2021.
