'What on earth?' Shocked Naga Munchetty reacts to JK Rowling's post after address leaked

JK Rowling hit out at three activists who posted her address online and stood outside her home holding signs which read: “Don’t be a cissy”, “Trans liberation now” and “Trans rights are human rights”.The Harry Potter author shared a lengthy post on Twitter today telling fans she had also received “so many death threats I could paper the house with them”.

“They should have reflected on the fact that I’ve now received so many death threats I could paper the house with them, and I haven’t stopped speaking out. Perhaps – and I’m just throwing this out there – the best way to prove your movement isn’t a threat to women is to stop stalking, harassing and threatening us.”

The Twitter accounts which shared the snaps have now been removed and police are investigating.

JK went on to say she had been contacted by several other women, who had been subjected to campaigns of intimation, which ranged from being harassed on social media to direct threats of violence and rape.

“None of these women are protected in the way I am,” she penned.

“They and their families have been put into a state of fear and distress for no other reason than that they refuse to uncritically accept that the socio-political concept of gender identity should replace that of sex.”

Naga has also been subjected to trolls on social media over the years.

She however has said she didn’t acknowledge peoples’ negative opinions, because, she claims, it’s them who are the problem.

The presenter wrote: “What motivates someone to get on to Twitter or Instagram to say, ‘This person is ugly’ or ‘I hate this person’?”

She added: “If someone has actively gone to their phone to type that, there’s got to be something deeply miserable in their lives. So I don’t care about them. I just don’t care.”
