John Lennon son Julian's 'life changed’ by new Beatles doc ‘Made me love my father again’

This Thursday marks the release of the first episode of The Beatles: Get Back on Disney+. The six-hour three-parter features tons of unseen footage and audio of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr during their 1969 recording sessions of their last album Let It Be. A special premiere of the new documentary took place in Hollywood last week attended by friends and family of the Fab Four.

Alongside Stella McCartney and Olivia Harrison, were John’s sons Julian Lennon and Sean Ono Lennon.

Julian’s mother was the Beatle’s first wife Cynthia Powell and Sean’s is his second Yoko Ono.

Now his firstborn has shared his reaction to The Beatles: Get Back with an emotional message on his Instagram.

He wrote: “What an Amazing night, firstly seeing Get Back & then Stella’s Event afterwards…”

Stella put on an afterparty at the former Charlie Chaplin Studios, now the Jim Henson Studios, where George met Olivia Harrison.

Julian continued: “The One True thing I can say about it all, is that it has made me so proud, inspired & feel more love for My/Our family, than ever before…

“And the film has made me love my father again, in a way I can’t fully describe….

“Thank you to All who had a hand, in bringing this project to fruition… Life Changing.”

Julian, who is a professional photographer, spent some more time with Sean on the West Coast afterwards, sharing stunning countryside photos.

The 58-year-old wrote: “What an absolute joy it was, to take My Brother Sean out for one of my drives over the Santa Monica Mountains today, ending up in Malibu for the Sunset…

“A lil wind blown & tired after a few hours driving through the Mountains to the Sea, but so worth it…. A Magical Day….”

The Beatles: Get Back will stream on Disney+ from November 25 with the second episode debuting on November 26 and the third on November 27.
