Chelsea star Mason Mount's abrupt transfer call adds to Thomas Tuchel's summer headache

In the game against Burnley before the international break, Mount was forced to look on from the sidelines as the likes of Ross Barkley and Callum Hudson-Odoi were chosen ahead of him.

But potentially losing Mount is just one of several transfer worries Tuchel has heading into next summer.

The expiring contract saga in defence is still ongoing. As it stands, Tuchel is set to lose no fewer than four defenders in Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva, Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen.

All four defenders’ contracts are up at the end of June meaning they will be able to negotiate freely with other clubs from January onwards.
