Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson wants to be the next James Bond

The Rock wants to be 007.

Pro wrestling star turned actor Dwayne Johnson has an interest in succeeding Daniel Craig as James Bond, he recently revealed.

“I would like to follow in his footsteps and be the next Bond,” Johnson, 49, said in an interview with Esquire.

Johnson — whose grandfather Peter Maivia played a Bond villain in the 1967’s “You Only Live Twice” — isn’t content with just appearing in a movie in the movie franchise.

“I don’t want to be a villain,” The Rock added with a wide smile. “You gotta be Bond.”

Craig’s fifth performance as the British spy in “No Time to Die,” which came to theaters last month, was his last in the role. The 53-year-old has been the face of 007 since 2006, when Craig played Bond in “Casino Royale.”

If Johnson were to take up the mantle of playing the iconic movie character, the prolific actor would become the ninth actor to play the MI6 secret agent. Johnson’s coming movies include superhero movie “Black Adam,” set to be released in summer 2022, and animated comedy “DC League of Super-Pets,” scheduled for a May release.

During the Esquire interview, published Nov. 11, the chiseled gym rat and former University of Miami football player also explained his habit of peeing in water bottles during his grueling workouts.

“I do pee in my water bottles, but let me give context to that,” Johnson said. “It’s not a water bottle that I’ve actually purchased solely for water that you wash and clean when you’re done using it. These are just bottles that I’m no longer using.”

“Usually the gyms that I work out in don’t have a bathroom because they’re the iron paradise,” the move star added. “They’re just hot, sweaty and dirty.”
