Sophie Wessex recycles coat dress & favourite hat for annual Remembrance service

Sophie was seen wearing a black coat and a special brooch with a hidden meaning. She watched on as Prince Charles lay the wreath on the Cenotaph on behalf of his mother, the Queen. Her Majesty was not in attendance today as she has sprained her back, the Palace confirmed this morning.

Sophie joined other guests, including Benedict Cumberbatch, for the reburial.

Her decision to rewear the outfit for today’s memorial service demonstrates the Duchess’ understanding of sustainable fashion, as well as budget.

She has been seen wearing the hat many times before, not only in 2015.

It was created by milliner Jane Taylor, known for being a favourite amongst the royals.

DON’T MISS:

Sophie, as well as Kate, owns multiple hats by the prominent British designer.

The Duchess of Wessex completed her look today with a few pieces of silver jewellery.

She wore small silver studs featuring a modern design that looked like ribbons.

Additionally, pinned to her coat dress collar was a silver brooch worn in the past by Camilla.

Today, the Duchess of Cornwall holds the title of Colonel-in-Chief of The Rifles regiment.

It was passed on to her by the late Prince in a socially distanced ceremony in July 2020.

Camilla must have given Sophie the brooch to wear for today’s memorial service.

Sophie was also at the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance last night.

For the occasion, the Duchess wore a long black coat with a black satin collar and stylish fringing at its rim.

She carried a silver diamanté clutch bag and a poppy brooch was pinned to her left lapel.

Unlike today, the Duchess’ hair lay in waves over her shoulders and she was more experimental with her make up, wearing a hint of warm bronzer.

Sophie sat in the royal box with her husband, the Earl of Wessex, as well as Prince William, the Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Charles, and the Duchess of Cornwall.
