Adam Peaty is said to be upset after his girlfriend Eiri Munroe, 23, was targeted by trolls following his near-kiss with his dance partner Katya Jones, 32. The Strictly Come Dancing 2021 contestant caused a stir after his sultry Argentine Tango with the Russian-born professional dance partner last month.
The 26-year-old Olympic swimming champion – who shares a young son with Eiri – is eager to protect her, a report claims.
He is said to be concerned that his other half is being mocked online and is said to be “beside himself”.
Adam and Katya — who survived last night’s dance-off — have formed a close friendship in the BBC dancing contest.
“Adam is beside himself about the abuse Eiri is receiving. He had no idea the impact being on the show would have on her and feels a responsibility as her partner,” a source told The Sun.

“Even when it’s a thousand nice comments and one mean one, it’s so easy to feel like the world is against you and it did feel like that for a while.”
Eiri added: “I then had a reality check and I remembered that I am not that important.
“But you guys made me feel so much better, those that were checking up on me and those that were commenting. Thank you.”
She concluded her message, saying: “You saved my life.”
