Strictly's Giovanni Pernice pulls Rose back as she threatens to walks off

Strictly Come Dancing Rose Ayling-Ellis and partner Giovanni Pernice performed the Viennese Waltz on Saturday night and gave dramatic and emotional performance. In the pre-recorded video Giovanni explained they were playing the role of a husband and wife who were arguing with one another. When the dance began, the pair were seen arguing, with Rose threatening to walk off before Giovanni pulled her back as their dance began.

After performing an emotional and dramatic dance and receiving flying comments from the judges, Rose and Giovanni joined Claudia Winkleman to receive their scores.

Craig Revel Horwood., Shirley Ballas, and Anton Du Beke awarded their dance a nine, with Motsi Mabuse awarding them a 10, adding their score up to 37 out of a possible 40.

Claudia spoke to the camera to inform the audience on how they could vote for Rose and Giovanni, but they were still in their roles from their dance.

Rose goes to give Giovanni a high ten but instead he turns her back towards her and ignores the gesture.

Rose then hit Giovanni on the shoulder and walked out of shot of the camera, before Giovanni pulled her back in.

Laughing at their acting, Claudia joked: “Yes, now you make up please!”

In the pre-recorded video, Giovanni was seen explaining to Rose what the storyline of their Viennese Waltz was going to be.

He explained: “So the concept of the dance is that me and you are married, and we live in this beautiful apartment where you can see all the city lights.

“All the way through the dance, you are thinking about you want this love, but you know it’s not good for you.”

Understanding where he was coming from, Rose confirmed: “So it’s very love and hate relationship.”

After their dramatic and emotional performance, they received a standing ovation from their fellow contestants.

Host Tess Daly commented: “Oh my goodness, I tell you what that had more drama than an episode of EastEnders.

“That was captivating Rose, I mean, you really made that your own,” she then handed over to head judge Shirley Ballas who described their performance as a reminder of her own life story.

“It was like watching my own life story there with my past husbands, I love you, I hate you, come here, go away I got all those emotions.

“Your acting skills, no wonder you’re absolutely a fabulous actress, and you brought it all together with some beautiful footwork and with a gorgeous frame.

“But I just love the narrative and how you sold it, thank you for the memories,” she explained, giggling.

Anton Du Beke was up next and said: “Ooh do you know, it was terrific I have had the pleasure over the years to have danced with some wonderful actresses and to be able to incorporate their ability.

“Giovanni, congratulations, that was beautifully put together, I thought it was tremendous, really, really good I loved it.”

Craig Revel Horwood went on to say one word: “Fabulous!” and Motsi Mabuse added: “I have to say I don’t think I need to say anything because your dance spoke for itself.

“This now for me was the dance with the it factor today, this is the dance, this is the moment, that was magical.”

Craig, Shirley, and Anton awarded their dance a nine, with Motsi awarding them a 10, adding their score up to 37/40.
