Lukaku is yet to find his best form since returning to the club he left in 2014 from Inter Milan.
The 28-year-old enjoyed a stellar two-year spell in Serie A before returning to Chelsea, and his former boss Antonio Conte recently claimed the Blues don’t know how to get the best out of the striker.
“If you have a centre-forward like that, you need to use him and I don’t think Chelsea have quite figured out how to use him yet,” Conte said last month.
“Last season, they didn’t have a proper centre-forward, so they rotated positions, whereas Romelu is a real reference point in attack.
