Pandora handing £500,000 pay rise to its UK staff as it fights to retain them in the run-up to the vital Christmas period

Pandora will hand a £500,000 pay rise to its UK staff as it fights to retain them in the run-up to the vital Christmas period.
The Danish jewellery brand, whose ad campaigns have been fronted by Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown, will today announce a 6 per cent increase in salaries for its 1,200 UK workers.
This will increase hourly wages for the lowest paid shop staff from £8.91 to £9.50 outside London, adding £1,070 to the annual pay packet of a full-time worker. In London pay will increase from £10.25 to £10.85, adding £1,100 to salaries.

Rasmus Brix, managing director of Pandora UK and Ireland, said: ‘We need to retain and hire more people. We offer very competitive terms.’
After a series of problems, companies are struggling with the worst staff shortages since the late 1990s.
Pandora, which has 185 shops in the UK, made profits of £282.7m last year, down from £434m in 2019, on revenues of £2.1billion, down from £2.4billion the year before.
It expects revenues to grow to £2.5billion in 2021.
