Destiny 2 Xur location today: Where is Xur this week and what loot is he selling?

Big plans are afoot in the world of Destiny, with lots of new content being planned for 2021 and beyond, but today, the development team are busy bringing back a fan-favourite.

Bungie won’t be giving any clues today on where Xur will be, but Destiny 2 Guardians won’t have to wait long to find out.

The Agent of the Nine will be back in rotation quickly, offering random rolls on a shortlist of exotic items, Legendary weapons armour sets.

Most of these will be available to purchase using Legendary Shards and Glimmer from Xur starting today, October 15.

The same weapons and armour will be available to buy until the weekly reset, scheduled for Tuesday, October 19, across PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.

The question of where Xur is and what he is selling will be settled at 6pm BST when the Merchant returns to one of his chosen spots.

This could be in the EDZ, The Tower, or somewhere else like Nessus. No new locations have been added to the game and there is no reason to believe he might spawn somewhere else.

Last week, Xur was selling these Legendary weapons: Jian 7 Rifle Energy Pulse Rifle, Seventh Seraph Officer Revolver Primary Hand Cannon, Gnawing Hunger Energy Auto Rifle, Distant Tumulus Energy Sniper Rifle, Wishbringer Energy Shotgun, Temptation’s Hook Heavy Sword , Bottom Dollar Energy Hand Cannon.

And he was also selling these exotic weapons: Telesto for 29 Legendary Shards, Winter’s Guile for 2, The Bombardiers for 23, Mk. 44 Stand Asides for 23.

Xur was also selling the Vigil of Heroes Hunter Legendary Armour for 50 Legendary Shards and 1000 Glimmer.

And for anyone who has forgotten, Legendary Shards used by Xur are remnants of powerful items used to improve gear or trade for other stuff.

It should also be noted that Xur will be dropping items similar in power level to your character.

And another part of Xur that is new to the latest version of Destiny 2 is that he now drops Cipher Quests for free.

The Quest will reward you with an exotic Cipher, and last week included completing 21 Strikes or winning the same number of Crucible or Gambit matches.

Every week, Guardians can acquire one Exotic Engram using Legendary Shards that will decrypt as Exotics that aren’t already in your collection.

Other events currently ongoing in Destiny 2 are not expected to affect Xur, meaning there will be no crossover items with the Festival of the Lost.

The Trials of Osiris will be the other big event kicking off today and is expected to offer a fresh Adept weapon as the Flawless reward.

This will arrive back in-game at 6pm, unless Bungie has chosen to postpone it for some reason, or run an experimental weekend.
