Despite not knowing about if marriage is in their future, she added: “He is the best thing that’s ever happened to me, without a shadow of a doubt.”
Carol was previously married to property developer Jimmy Kirkwood in 1999, but the couple separated in 2008.
The BBC host addressed her split while talking about her decision to take part in Strictly in 2015.
The star, who was partnered with Pasha Kovalev, told Radio Times: “I found myself when I got divorced.
“I started to do things and to think, ‘I’m not going to say no, I’m going to say yes!’”
