The Korean series gained tons of fans across the world which resulted in Squid Game having a spot on Netflix’s most-watched list, within a week of its release.
Although the streaming platform didn’t label it as a limited series, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk told Variety he had no plans to write a second season and added: “it’s quite tiring to think about.”
While it may seem all hope is lost the creator who was also the writer and director, told Radio Times: “It’s not that I haven’t thought about season two at all, and I also do have a rough framework for it. But I keep asking myself whether I can make it better than season one. I do not want people to get disappointed over the new season.”
Perhaps, the global success of Squid Game could persuade him to write the next instalment which could include an explanation of the plot hole.
