Michael Keaton is back as Batman — but only for a short while.
Keaton, 70, will be reprising his role as the hero of Gotham City in the upcoming “Flash” film and he revealed that his Batman suit still fits him 32 years later.
The “Birdman” actor portrayed Bruce Wayne/Batman in Tim Burton’s 1989 flick “Batman” and its 1992 sequel “Batman Returns.”
Keaton stopped by Stephen Colbert’s “The Late Show” Tuesday and discussed returning to the DC role decades later.
Colbert, 57, asked if the costume needed to be “let out.”
“Svelte as ever,” Keaton jokingly said about his body. “Same dimensions. Same fitting.”
He added that it was “great” to return to the superhero role, stating, “I don’t know how many there are, like 77 Batmans. They think they should form their own union.”
In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel released in October 2020, the “Beetlejuice” star also spoke about embodying the Caped Crusader once again.
“If I am just feeling insecure enough, I will slip into the suit. It just makes me feel a whole lot better,” he told the late-night talk show host. “I will walk around the neighborhood a little bit. By the way, when things around here get a little bit nervous-making, I just put the suit on, and boy, things straighten the f – – k up.”
In a separate interview with the other Jimmy — Jimmy Fallon — Keaton said wearing the suit again was “like riding a bike.”
“I don’t know why I didn’t think of this the first time. It’s easier to be really skinny and not work out, because you have more room to work around,” he said.
The Oscar-nominated actor then remembered co-star Jack Nicholson, who portrayed the villainous Joker in “Batman,” asked why he was pumping iron on the film’s set.
“I’m getting ready, I’m working on the bag and I’m doing all this stuff. Jack Nicholson walks by who was playing the Joker and he looks at me and he goes, ‘What are you doing?’ And I go, ‘Eh, you know working out.’ He goes, ‘What for?’ I stopped, sweating and I went ‘I don’t know,’ ” Keaton said.
“He just walked away. I thought, ‘He’s right.’ Totally right, because you got a suit. What do I need to do? The suit makes me look good,” Keaton added.
“The Flash” is out in theaters Nov. 4, 2022.
