Celebrity SAS's Alexandra Burke in tears over Channel 4 decision 'Was a massive problem'

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins comes to a dramatic conclusion on Sunday night, with the contestants taking on their final challenges. Alexandra Burke is one of the six remaining participants in the competition and she’s opened up about what drove her to take part in the show. During an interview with Express.co.uk and other press, Alexandra confessed she became emotional when she found out she’d be a contestant on the Channel 4 series.

The singer revealed when she first saw Celebrity SAS, she instantly knew she wanted to be on it.

Alexandra remarked: “I might be the only person that begged to be on this show from the day that I saw it air.”

She confessed she was so desperate to be on the programme she “begged” her agent.

However, Alexandra explained that her agent told her she wouldn’t have time in between her tours.

She continued: “Long story short, I planned to take six months off for my mental health in 2020 anyway, before going on another tour and that tour was then postponed.

“So, I actually had time, and the opportunity came about where my agent said ‘Look you could do it if you want to. You know you train at home and stuff so maybe, I don’t know if you’re fit enough to take it on but you can try.’

“And I literally said ‘If you don’t get me on that. There’s gonna be a massive problem.'”

“I said, ‘You get me on that immediately’ and so we did the Zoom call,” Alexandra explained.

“My friends who know me well and my family have all said ‘you are a changed person since SAS’.

“They can’t, they literally are just like, ‘every time we see you, you’re just a different human being’, and I can feel that change.

“I remember returning home, pulling up on my street and I went, ‘I don’t want to be here. I want to be back on base with everybody else, where there are no phones and everything stripped from you.’

“Because none of that matters. None of that matters at all, and it just puts things into perspective deeply,” Alexandra said.
