Roberto Martinez 'warns Belgium' after Barcelona make contact to replace Ronald Koeman

It would be a massive job for Martinez amid unfavourable circumstances, taking on a club with no Lionel Messi, a sub-par squad and a mountain of debt.

However, it could be something the Catalan-born manager would not be able to resist.

Sacking Koeman now appears to be merely a matter of time, with Barca in the midst of a hectic schedule and Martinez unable to abandon the Belgium squad two weeks before the UEFA Nations League finals.

As such, the Spaniard would have to wait until mid-October, but the report also states that Barca are talking to other candidates.
