Ann Widdecombe spoke with Express.co.uk about Joe Biden and feared his ally waiting in the wing was more dangerous than he is. She explained Vice-President Kamala Harris could be more damaging than the current president because of her policies and said if Mr Biden were to step down then she would likely take his place. Ms Widdecombe feared that scenario would be much worse as Ms Harris would be able to implement her “very far-left socialist policies”.
Speaking to Express.co.uk. Ms Widdecombe was asked for her thoughts on Mr Biden and whether or not he was able to lead on the world’s stage.
She said: “He is probably not fit for office, he refuses to take a cognitive test, Trump took one and passed with the flying colours so why shouldn’t Biden take it.
“But he won’t, we know that he relies a great deal on prompt cards.
“I’m the first to tell you that you know that as you get older you will forget the name and things like that but then you don’t aspire to world-leading positions when you reach that state.”
In August 2020, Mr Biden was asked if he had taken a cognitive test over fears of his mental ability.
He bluntly replied to a reporter: “Why the hell would I take a cognitive test? Come on man.”
Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump said he “aced” his test although was widely mocked when he started to brag about the results.
Ms Widdecombe continued: “However, the reality is that if Biden were to step down, Kamala Harris is going to take over.
“She is a very, very, far-left socialist and while I think Biden is dangerous, accidentally, if you like, I think Kamala Harris would be much more dangerous in terms of policies.”
Ms Harris was notably absent during the US withdrawal from Afghanistan as Mr Biden was left to take on all the criticisms by himself.
Some political commentators believe this was done deliberately so her reputation could remain intact for any potential presidency.
Among Ms Harris’ promoted policies include the legalisation of marijuana, reforms of the criminal justice system to address racism, abolish the death penalty and the introduction of a student loan forgiveness plan.

Over the past few weeks, Mr Biden has been accused of avoiding reporters as many journalists have been denied an opportunity to ask the president questions.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson joined Mr Biden in the White House where reporters were invited to take photos of the meet.
However, US journalists were denied the opportunity to ask questions to either man after handlers delivered strict rules and restrictions on the meet.
The Sun’s political editor Harry Cole attempted to ask Mr Biden a question about the UK/US free-trade deal but was told to direct the question towards Mr Johnson instead.
White House staffers could then be heard yelling “thank you, let’s go” before escorting journalists out of the room.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki was grilled on the events and said reporters were ushered out of the room because the PM did not let them know he was going to answer questions.
A formal complaint has been lodged by the White House press corp as they demand better access to Mr Biden.
