Scotland handed independence boost with £1.8billion investment in key industry sector

Speaking on Saturday, Ian Blackford touted the importance of the international community coming together to tackle climate change.

However, he said the upcoming COP26 summit also presents an opportunity for Scotland to “showcase our many opportunities to grow our economy and tackle the climate emergency”.

He also used the opportunity to praise Acorn, an ambitious carbon capture project in Aberdeenshire.

The project is set to be one of the biggest industrial projects undertaken in Scotland since World War 2.

According to Mr Blackford, it will help establish some 15,000 sustainable jobs in the northeast of Scotland.
