Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion lead BET Hip Hop Awards nominations

The BET Hip Hop Awards are back on your TV screens.

The channel announced the nominations for the ceremony Thursday, just days before the MTV VMAs. The 16th annual award show is set to air Oct. 5 at 9 p.m. on BET while the show will be filmed Oct. 1 at the Cobb Energy Center in Atlanta.

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion lead the nominations for this year’s awards, nabbing nine noms apiece. They’re also up for MTV Video Music Awards this year.

Drake earned eight nods across seven categories. He is up for awards including hip hop artist of the year and song of the year.

Other rappers and artists who scored nominations, include Moneybagg Yo, Tyler, the Creator, Migos, DJ Khaled, 21 Savage & Metro Boomin and J. Cole. Lil Nas X garnered two nods for his hit “Montero (Call Me by Your Name),” while Sweetie and Doja Cat got a nomination for their collab “Best Friend.”
