Outlander blunder: Claire Fraser's first scene suffers glaring error – did you spot it?

Starz’s historical drama Outlander followed the life of nurse Claire Fraser (played by Caitriona Balfe) as she journeyed to the past after discovering she could time travel. After season six suffered a major production delay because of the Covid-19, fans have been rewatching the series and one eagle-eyed viewer spotted a glaring error from season one.

In the pilot episode, viewers were thrust into action with Claire introduced as a nurse helping victims of World War II.

She went straight into the midst of devastation and helped a young man whose leg had been severely wounded.

This is where an observant fan noticed the major error. As Claire jumped in to put a stop to the bleed, viewers were given a glimpse into how much mess had been made.

The surface is covered in blood which even reached her face and shoes.

Her apron is spotless – but when she was out after sedating the injured man it is completely covered in blood – a huge difference from the scene before.

Outlander first aired in 2014 and is the onscreen adaptation of best-selling novel series written by Diana Gabaldon.

With themes of history, romance and fantasy, the series also portrayed real-life events.

After discovering she could time travel, Claire was transported from Scotland in the 1940s to the 18th century.

While she is still in the past, the two fall in love and eventually marry so she can identify as Scottish.

By the time Claire returned to the future, she is pregnant. Frank agrees to raise her child as his own but didn’t believe her time-travelling stories and passed it off as a trauma response.

After an argument, Frank storms out and dies in a car crash. Although it is tragic, Claire sees it as an opportunity to return through the stones and reunite with Jamie.

Throughout the series, fans follow countless trials and tribulations the couple encounters.

Following the theme of real-life events, Claire and Jamie venture through Scotland, France, Jamaica – and even encounter the Battle of Culloden.

After a shocking end to season five, fans can expect the sixth instalment soon as it was revealed production has officially wrapped up.

The series ends with a threat of an impending war with the Frasers, so it’s safe to say season six will be an explosive one.
