New World players can get a free skin by watching Gamescom ONL 2021

New World has been generating plenty of buzz, with a recent closed beta for the Amazon MMO further raising excitement levels. And the release date for the highly anticipated title from Amazon Games is drawing near, with the New World release date pencilled in for September 28. If you’re looking forward to the launch of the MMORPG then you can get ready for it by tuning into Gamescom Opening Night Live 2021 today.

It’s been announced that New World players will be able to claim a skin for the game entirely for free by tuning into Gamescom ONL.

The Geoff Keighley-fronted event kicks off at 7pm BST and will offer rewards to New World players via Twitch drops.

Announcing the news Keighley posted: “Tomorrow, @twitch viewers for @gamescom #OpeningNightLive can unlock a special Apparel Skin drop in @playnewworld by watching 15 minutes of the show on the main channel or any connected co-streamer.”

While the New World Twitter added: “Tune in tomorrow at 10:30 AM PT (1:30 PM ET) to watch #PlayNewWorld at @gamescom #OpeningNightLive to earn the Verdant Trapper Skin from Twitch Drops!

‘To claim this drop, watch 15+ minutes of the show via Twitch!”

NEW WORLD TWITCH DROPS

Follow these 3 steps to activate Twitch Drops for your New World Steam account. Once you connect your Twitch and Steam accounts, any newly claimed New World Twitch Drop will automatically be delivered to your Steam account.

• Sign in with your Twitch account

• Connect accounts

• Activate New World Twitch drops

The New World website added: “To earn a Drop, log in to Twitch, make sure your profile is set to Online, and watch any New World broadcast marked with the “Drops Enabled” tag.

“Once you achieve the Drop goal, look for a call-out at the top of the chat to claim. You can always claim or check your progress towards the Drop goal in your Drops inventory on Twitch as well. You must claim the Drop prior to receiving the Drop in-game. Learn more from Twitch Help topics.

“Once claimed, connect your Twitch account with your Steam account to receive rewards.”
