A Taliban spokesman in Doha has warned the US and US against keeping troops in Afghanistan past the August 31 deadline. British forces and been aiding the US and other NATO allies to protect Kabul Airport amid a frantic humanitarian mission to rescue Afghans looking to feel from the Taliban’s fundamentalist rule. Speaking with Sky News, Dr Suhail Shaheen issued a chilling warning to President Joe Biden arguing a continued US presence would have “consequences.”
“It’s a red line,” Taliban spokesperson Dr Shaheen told Sky News.
“President Biden announced that on 31 August they would withdraw all their military forces.
So if they extend it that means they are extending occupation while there is no need for that.”
“If the US or UK were to seek additional time to continue evacuations – the answer is no.

“Or there would be consequences.
“It will create mistrust between us.
“If they are intent on continuing the occupation it will provoke a reaction.”
Dr Shaheen went onto dismiss the mass exodus of Afghans fleeing Taliban rule as simpy “economic migrants.”
A former paratrooper has warned that the Taliban have already begun to seek revenge on translators and other Afghans who aided the 20-year-long NATO occupation.
Andrew Fox called up LBC to warn that the Taliban are “firmly threatening people” and that “executions have begun” in certain regions of Afghanistan.
Major Fox told LBC: “The Taliban are firmly threatening people, executions are beginning in Kandahar province down in the south.
“I know for a fact that some interpreters were intercepted the other day and they are now in an escape and evasion mission in Kabul trying to get to the airport, people have had phone calls to their houses saying when the Americans are gone we are coming for you.”
