James Martin: Chef shares how to make 'amazing' beef dish on the BBQ in just 5 minutes

James Martin is best known for presenting James Martin’s Saturday Morning on ITV, where he shares his best recipes with viewers. He also answers audiences’ cooking dilemmas.

This dish is easy to make and takes only five minutes, according to James.

The chef said: “Mince beef is perfect for burgers.

“One of my favourites is koftas. It’s really easy – you can cook them under the grill, you can put them on the barbecue.”

The chef put some minced beef into a bowl and added breadcrumbs, which “acts as the glue to stick it together”.

DON’T MISS:

He then cracked an egg into the bowl, followed by fennel seed.

“It’s a fantastic thing to go with beef,” James explained.

“It’s brilliant if you use mince lamb, it goes with chicken, it goes with fish.”

After adding parsley to the bowl, James seasoned the ingredients with pepper and a “nice good pinch of salt”.

Next, James turned his attention to the glaze, which he later brushed on the kebabs.

The ingredients included grated ginger, light brown sugar, white wine vinegar, and apricot jam.

“If you boil this together in a pan, this makes the most amazing glaze for your beef,” James said.

The chef recommended putting the glaze on either skewers or burgers before putting them under the grill.

“It’s a really different and alternative flavour.”

James stressed that the kebabs “taste amazing” when grilled on the barbecue too, especially as they only take five to six minutes to cook.
