It appears the episode will finally be delving into the origins of Rick and Birdperson’s friendship, as Rick prepares to launch the Best Friend Rejuvenation Sequence in the new clip.
So far, the new season has been light on continuity, aside from a brief reference to Rick’s wife and the unsettling return of the ‘Incest Baby’, Naruto.
However, viewers are convinced tonight’s instalment will be a canon-heavy episode now the first couple of minutes are available to watch on YouTube.
The promotional teaser, plus the title’s obvious allusion to the memory-based sci-fi film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, suggest tonight’s episode will be packed with flashbacks.
