During his appearance on the programme, he told stand-in host Christine Lampard about the event which coincides with his album launch. Brian is re-releasing his first solo album Back to the Light.
He said that his former bandmate Freddie Mercury had given the solo move his blessing and opened up about the “horrendous” experience he went through when penning his debut album.
Recalling his memories from 30 years ago, he said: “It was kind of chaotic really.
“We were doing very well, I suppose as musicians, but my life was falling to pieces all over the place.”
“First of all with losing Freddie, we knew we’re losing Freddie, some time during that period.”
“So we think we’re losing the band, the band is really our family. I’m losing my dad, my dad’s about to go, I’m losing my marriage because my marriage has broken up irretrievably,” he candidly continued.
