Remembering Amy Winehouse: Rare unearthed footage and NFTs for fans to trade

Journalist and author Daphne Barak, who spent six months with the star and her family before writing the book Saving Amy, is releasing never-seen-published content including pictures and video clips of her time with the British star.

US-based Barak filmed around 40 hours of footage with Amy, mother Janis and her father Mitch.

Now 10 years after her death, Barak is opening her archives with fans able to collect parts for themselves via a series of NFTs.

Included in the footage are tender family moments between the three that Barak used as a basis for her best-selling book.

The Saving Amy legacy series consists of 6 drops that will be made available once a week for six weeks.

Fans will be able to collect rare NFTs of Amy each week for six weeks, as well as look back on her illustrious career.

Barak will also participate in a VIP experience, where she will share her knowledge and ties to Winehouse.

After the series concludes, the Saving Amy NFT Marketplace will be available for all collectors to buy, sell, and trade their NFTs for money and prizes.

Many people considered Barak to be the singer’s confidant, with Amy once saying, “Only Daphne can explain my complicated life.”

Barak spent time with Amy in London, St Lucia and other locations around the world to write the book that was published in 2010.

The Saving Amy series is the first part of a trilogy taken from the author’s archives entering on “superstars who died too soon.”

Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston will also feature in future tributes.

The Daphne Barak Library consists of more than 350 original interviews with celebrities and politicians.
